Welcome to Santa Fe

Check in Time is 2 p.m.

Check out is 12 noon

The Guest Apartment is immediately to your right, just inside the glassed in portal. The guest key* also unlocks the portal door. Parking is limited in front of the Meetinghouse, but free parking is available on Escondido Street, ½ block away (west, closer to Paseo de Peralta). Please avoid parking in the Meetinghouse driveway, and please be careful to close and latch the entrance gate as you come and go.

Resident Friend: If you need to get in touch with the resident during your stay, you may call Peg at 983-7241 and leave a message. She lives in the adobe cottage in the garden. If you cannot contact her and need to speak with someone else in the Meeting, you may call Ann Anthony at 955-1959

Gas Heater: To adjust the heat, turn the large tan dial that faces the wall. If you are in front of the heater, turn the tan dial counter-clockwise until the heater is high enough. Clockwise turns the heater lower and off. Avoid turning the red knob or small tan knob that sits on top of the element—they may turn off the pilot light. The pilot light always remains on, but should it go out it can be relit at the side.

Linens: You will find clean linens on the beds and extras are in the plastic tubs stored on shelves above the bathtub. Additional blankets are kept in the chest by the couch.

Telephone: The phone number for the guest apartment phone is 505-983-1980. There is a second line which may be used for dial up internet connection if needed.

Flashlight: The rechargeable flashlight (in the kitchen, near the door) switches on when the plug prongs are tucked into the handle.

Carbon Monoxide Detector: The small white box with the red LED display is a carbon monoxide detector.

Outside Lights: Outside light switches are under a protected metal flap just outside the portal door nest to the circuit breaker box. The left one is for the guest apartment door. The right one is for the Meetinghouse gate.

* See end of document for key instructions

Garden and Meetinghouse: Our garden is here for you to enjoy. If you want to do any “holy work”, let the resident know and she may provide some ideas. Feel free to ask the resident to tour the Meetinghouse, see Olive Rush’s paintings or make use of the library.

Buster, the resident Border Collie is both gentle and deaf, and poses no threat to guests. Thank you for keeping the gate closed, on his behalf.

On weekdays there are several groups who use the Meetinghouse and garden, and we ask that you respect their privacy.

There are two varieties of picture note cards in the portal for your purchase. You may leave payment in the adjacent jar or envelope.

First Day Meeting: You are invited and welcome to attend worship services at the Meetinghouse on First Day at 9 and 11 a.m. A small group also meets to sing at 10 in the garden, weather permitting, or first day school room.
